Seit wann gibt es ihn?<\/strong><\/p>\n Die Geschichte der Kunststoffe begann im Jahr 1862, als der englische Chemiker Alexander Parkes den ersten halbsynthetischen Kunststoff entwickelte und patentieren lie\u00df, das Parkesin (sp\u00e4ter auch als Xylonit bekannt). Doch erst im Jahre 1869 erhielt dieses neue Material einen industriellen Charakter – dank des Billardspiels. Da die Billardkugeln aus wertvollen und sehr kostspieligen Materialien hergestellt wurden, hatte man eine Pr\u00e4mie ausgesetzt f\u00fcr denjenigen, der eine kosteng\u00fcnstigere Alternative vorschlagen konnte. \u00a0John Wesley Hyatt kam ins Spiel und perfektionierte die Formel von Parkes, indem er Zellulose und Kampfer mischte, wodurch Zelluloid entstand. Die Hyatt Manufacturing Company war somit das erste Unternehmen weltweit, das Kunststoffe herstellte. \nIm Jahre 1912 entdeckte der Deutsche Fritz Klatte das Verfahren zur Herstellung von PVC, das jedoch erst viele Jahre sp\u00e4ter gro\u00dfe industrielle Entwicklungen erfahren sollte. 1913 wurde das Zellophan erfunden und von Anfang an f\u00fcr die Verpackung von Waren verwendet.
